Alex Lien

Best Man

Justin: Alex and I have been friends since our first year in college, where we also roomed together for three years. Despite any distance or challenges, Alex has always found a way to be a constant in my life or sharing hobbies together. I am grateful to have such a great friend, especially one who finds a way to drag me into trying new things (even when I do not want to). Additionally, Alex gets the unique honor of being the one to introduce me to Jenn.

Michelle Okawa

Maid of Honor

Jenn: Michelle was the first friend I made in kindergarten! We grew up on the same street, sending letters to our mailboxes and spending afternoons jumping on Michelle’s trampoline, reenacting scenes from Spongebob, and playing Animal Crossing on her GameCube. We share infinite inside jokes from our 27 years of friendship. Michelle has been there for me for all the highs and lows of my life. I can always count on her to be a phone call away when I need her.

William Nguyen

Groomsman

Justin: Will is one of my longest standing friends, dating back to 9th grade. I still remember clearly the first time we hung out. We met up on the weekend at Cerritos Library to work on a Biology project together, but we ended up goofing off the entire time. Since then, Will has been there for every stage of my life, and I am grateful to have such a fine man among my friends. I can always count on him to be the life of the party.

Jessica Chow

Matron of Honor

Jenn: I met Jessica through my brother Andrew, who was wise to marry her! She taught me how to fishtail braid my hair, gifted me my first house plant, and introduced me to mindfulness, living in the present. We’ve traveled to Europe together with our family and make annual trips to San Diego Comic Con. She is the sister I’ve always wanted, a huge inspiration, and a wonderful mom to our nephew Oliver. (Our ring bearer!)

Daniel Lu

Bridesman

Jenn: I met Daniel on Maple Story through our mutual friend Alex. We became fast friends as fellow extroverts, bonding over our shared love of Disney movies and emo bands. I invited him to my Sweet 16 birthday party and told my friends he was my bodyguard! Daniel maintains this role to this day, joining me on countless adventures to concerts and museums and always making sure I get home safely. He introduced me to some of my favorite artists and places in Los Angeles.

Nancy Vu

Groomswoman

Justin: Nancy was one of the first friends I met in college, and we shared many great memories together from going to Sunday service and brunch every week to our time in the Vietnamese Language and Culture Club. I know Nancy is one of my closest friends because we sometimes would not talk or contact each other for months at a time, but still find a way to chat and hang out for almost an entire day in a random food court.

Thanh Nguyen

Groomsman

Justin: Thanh and I have been friends since college and I have enjoyed growing into an adult together with him. We are almost twins (Thanh was born one day before me) and we have been there for each other for many of the pivotal moments in our lives. I marvel at how far both of us have come from the time we met to the people we are today, and I am proud to count him among my closest friends.

Elizabeth Choong

Bridesmaid

Jenn: Lizz is the first friend I made in high school when she sat in front of me in first period World History class. We’re born exactly one day apart! I admire her radiant positivity, the way she strives for her dreams, and her ability to befriend everyone she meets. We also worked together at my first creative agency job where she was my project manager. Nowadays, we’re workout buddies who go to the gym together!

Shane Rayos Del Sol

Groomsman

Justin: Shane and I have been friends since high school, and I am really proud of how much both of us have accomplished. We used to joke and compete with each other in high school about who was going to make more money when we grew up, and if things did not work out for one of us we would hire the other as a janitor. That is no longer necessary as we have both found our goals in our careers.

Emily Kim

Bridesmaid

Jenn: I met Emily through Justin and Alex on Guild Wars 2. We bonded over raising cute senior pets and energetic kittens. Emily is truly a real one. She'd drive all the way from UCLA to get weekly dinner with us in Hacienda Heights. She’s the first to arrive to help set up our parties and the last to leave after we clean up. I can count on her to share honest feedback or a good laugh with me.

Trish Lee

Bridesmaid

Jenn: Trish was my doubles partner on our high school badminton team. She moved to Canada after 9th grade and we reconnected years later in SoCal after we both graduated with Graphic Design degrees. She’s one of my favorite creatives to bounce ideas off of and brainstorm with. We enjoy having karaoke nights and hot pot dinners at home. She also adopted my foster dog Winston and gave him the best furrever home!

Alex Shu

Groomsman

Justin: "Shu" and I became friends relatively recently but I am glad that we are friends. We share a lot of similar interests and hobbies in video games and anime so I can talk about my most niche interests with the faith that Shu will understand me. Not only that, but I can always count on Shu to have a “hot take” opinion on whatever we are doing together.
